DDGM Official Visit & Recognitions

At our Annual DDGM Official Visit stated meeting on Friday, March 14 (pi day), we had a great time of fellowship and brotherhood at KING OSCAR LODGE No. 855 A.F. & A.M.

We were pleased and honored to receive our current Grand Lodge of A.F. & A.M. of Illinois DDGM RW Bro. Chip P Smith who happens to be an active member of our Lodge.

During his presentation he engaged all those present to share their personal thoughts and experiences on being a Mason and the reason(s) why they are still compelled to attend the meetings at lodge.

After hearing that all is in good order, a few of our members were recognized with a Grand Lodge of A.F. & A.M. of Illinois Service & Membership Anniversary Certificate presented with a handshake by our DDGM, RW Bro. Chip Smith.

The Certificate for the longest active membership to those who were present went to W. Bro. Treasurer, Lee Schiff, who received also a 35 year anniversary lapel pin!

The other certificates were for 10, 20, and 25 year anniversaries, of which one was conferred to W.M. Lozich and one to RW Bro. Smith himself.

Talking about DDGM…Bro. Secretary Myron Dent Sr. reminded everyone to keep in their thoughts and prayers our past DDGM R W. Bro. Elliott Velez who has been dealing with some health issues.

As suggested we signed a card and got a bouquet of flowers that he delivered at his home.
